The reports that Banksy has been arrested in London is a complete hoax. But this gaint new piece in Bristol is a real Banksy piece.
It is based on Dutch artists Johannes Vermeer's masterwork Girl with a Pearl Earring- Banksy calls it The Girl with the Pierced Eardrum, due to an alarm box he has painter around.
It has been painted on a wall in Hanover Place in the city's Harbourside and incorporates the building's burglar alarm as the model's earring.
A row broke out over who owned it with Bristol City Council arguing the work was on its land.
However Banksy wrote to Broad Plain Boys' Club saying it was theirs and the club sold it to a private collector for £403,000.
